The heavens poured out her due,
wings bathed in strife
gluttony flung itself over cities and towns
ravenous structures fed by desperate streets,
the flesh sleeps with debt
wantonness like a ghost walks by daylight
tugging at the sleeve of survival.

Whispers from stone

Stigmas fall like rain
upon the backs of the young,
souls rooted to broken stone.
There are no sidewalks here only streets.
Colors fade to gray.
There are no homes here only government structures erected as gods
creeping through the veins of the hungry.
Restless dreams given from broken walls,
taken captive by plates filled with rationed mantras
sung by those who hear but do not listen.
Poverty like a cancer grows
binding the arms of the young
to whispers from stone.

Who does government work for?

“Every politician should have to live on the same streets their polices loom over.”

Those running for office will say,
“Who does government work for?!”
The answer has proven itself over the years, government works best for the politicians.
Politicians exempt themselves from
stagnant wages,
mandated healthcare
rationed meals
rationed medications
walking to work because the car broke down and there’s not enough to fix it despite the fact that someone works 2-3 jobs,
exempt from the true effects of a corrupt economic system whether that be capitalism or socialism,
despite the fact that someone works 2-3 jobs and still needs to go to the food pantry, a political figure running for the presidential office will never be so affected by stagnant wages that they need to stand in line at a food pantry,
exempt from hunger,
using a stove to heat a small area in the kitchen
boil water on a stove to bathe because stagnant wages have made it impossible to keep up with rising costs.
So who does government work for? The government itself.

Hiding truth

Truth shouldn’t cost anything,
the only time truth is costly is when there’s a war against it.
Corrupt governments protect the corrupt.
Thieves protect the thief.
Liars protect the lie.
Politicians create and protect political rhetoric.

Strange gods

Humanity clothed themselves in unusual garments and burdened their faces with masks,

hiding the strange gods of the earth.

They were given a different tongue,

prayers broken by words of no use.

Weighed down by sins committed of flesh and bone,

covering the devil in Gods cloth

justifying ills

blinded by the blessings of evil from strange gods.

Notes from under the bridge 2

All the stores were the same, the workers all sung the same song an homage to the new system, those who differed in the slightest were refused.

I kept my pace against the crowds as many were walking the other way. The letters on the cardboard signs were all the same. I heard them chanting, the words seemed to parrot the language of the new world system.

A hand grabbed my arm, a firm voice said, “come this way! You will not be able to work, buy or sell, get medication(s), the hospitals or physicians will not treat you, you will lose your home, your earnings will be no more and the streets will become your swift enemy. Come the way of the system and be saved or a threat you will be.” I nodded but did not bow for I only wanted to walk the other way.
